Look to the rainbow with this family film from IFI Irish Film Archive. Based on the 1947 Broadway hit, Francis Ford Coppola’s musical combines whimsy, a charming leprechaun and a pot of gold with great songs and a comment on 1960s US racial politics. Finian Mc Lonergan (Fred Astaire) is the wizened, twinkletoed Irishman who plants a stolen pot of gold near Fort Knox believing it will make his fortune. But he and his beautiful daughter Sharon (Petula Clark) cross paths with wily leprechaun, Og, (Tommy Steele) and a racist Senator. High jinks follow, a major comeuppance and some memorable tunes which will have you whistling all the way home.

Tickets: €4.80 per person, €14.40 family ticket (2 adults + 2 children / 1 adult + 3 children) available here.
