Eamonn Doyle has been photographing his fellow Dubliners since the early ‘90s, and has developed a unique approach to his street portraiture. Despite the close range muggers-eye-view, the images remain respectful, reverent, almost in awe of the mysterious figures they depict, inspiring feelings such as kinship and compassion. The exhibition will feature a selection of work from Eamonn’s limited edition book ‘i’ and offers a fascinating view through Doyle’s lens of everyday Dubliners.

The limited edition book ‘i ’ will launch on Friday 14th March and will be available at a special rate during the exhibition before its April release.

Friday 14th &  Saturday 15th: 12pm-6pm
Sunday 16th & Monday 17th:11am-6pm
Book Launch: Friday 14th at 6pm

As part of I Love My City, photographic artist Eamonn Doyle will take over the unused hoarding space on O’Connell Street, opposite The Gresham Hotel for a one-off on-street portraiture exhibition. Twenty large scale portraits of his fellow Dubliners will grace the hoarding site, creating a striking visual on one of the busiest streets in the city.

This is street portraiture, but these are portraits like no others. History and biography are literally kept out of the picture. His photographs remind us that every life has weight and drama, even if its meaning is ultimately elusive.
