This exhibition, 60 Symbols of Ireland is being staged by the 411 Galleries and will feature the work of Chen Jiale, James Ryan and John Roch Simons.
- the land
- the architecture
- the people
- the coasts
- the icons
- the colours
- the street
- the identity
Jiale is newly experiencing what it is to be Irish, having moved and become a citizen; James reflects emigration and commuting between Ireland with family and John represents the fortune of always having lived on the island.
The three will pull together 20 images each to be pooled and challenged from a curatorial point of view. The agreed completed images will be printed onto the canvas materials and adapted for display for the Ireland Week Festival.
This exhibition will give a very different and colourful view of what three people in very different situations think of Ireland - and hopefully will also resonate well with a Chinese audience that is always curious.
