A series of exhibitions in a pop-up space. The Future Perfect is a series of exhibitions presented by Josephine Kelliher, whose Rubicon Gallery has worked with collectors, critics, curators and gallery colleagues in Belgium and greater Europe for twenty years to promote Irish artists.
The exhibitions will feature contemporary artists, working in different media, some of whom express idealistic and utopian future formulae and others whose position veers from post-modern skepticism to the dystopian. These artists share an international perspective but also reflect the concerns of Irish people today. Our culture is one of the key signifiers of Ireland and, as a place of creativity and innovation with a tenacious and resourceful young population, The Future Perfect may point to some new ways forward.
Rubicon Gallery opened at 10 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin in 1995. The gallery curates between ten and twelve exhibitions in Dublin annually (about 200 to date), and publishes artists’ books. Rubicon Gallery has participated in over forty international Art Fairs, commissioning new works and introducing Irish artists in Europe and the rest of the world.
