Doyle’s ‘Brilliant’ story to become children’s novel.
St. Patrick’s Festival are delighted to hear that Roddy Doyle’s story ‘Brilliant’ , which was written for the Festival in 2011 will be turned into a children’s novel!
‘Brilliant,’ by Booker-prize winning author Roddy Doyle is a fun and uplifting short story about banishing the black dog of depression over Dublin and getting the city’s funny bone back. The short story was used as the inspiration for the St. Patrick’s Festival Parade to honour Dublin’s designation as a UNESCO City of Literature in 2011 and Ireland’s leading pageant companies interpreted different chapters of the story using their own inimitable style.
