Step into literary history at the mesmerising 300 year old Marsh’s Library. Hear stories from the past three centuries and explore books that have been on the shelves since 1707.
Gather around to hear stories from some of Ireland’s greatest writers including Jonathan Swift and James Joyce, all of whom found inspiration in the library’s tomes. The table and chairs that were used by some of Ireland’s greatest creative minds are still on display in the old reading room. You can still see books with bullet holes, from when the reading room was hit by machine–gun fire during the Easter Rising of 1916!
